Teresa Poole

Teresa Poole is a London based painter and former interior designer / applied arts specialist whose work is inspired by Japanese screens and the decorative arts of the 17th and 18th century. She says, "I want to explore the relationship between art and the beholder, and how a painting affects its surroundings and the emotions of an onlooker... I use metal leaf, colour and composition to realize these concepts, and to draw the onlooker into an enchanted more peaceful world." She sees her work metaphorically as a garden: whether portraying delicate sakura petals against a background of mustard-toned hillocks, Japanese-panel-inspired portraits, or applying gold leaf to trompe-l’oeil wall displays, her works are not only visually stunning, but resonant with her long emotional attachments.

Aleksandra Poplawska

Aleksandra Poplawska is a Panel and Wall Painting Conservationist. Spending days, weeks and months looking at old and often rare paintings has greatly influenced her own art. The attention to fine detail and precise observation required in her work has not only helped her to acquire an empirical knowledge for painting techniques, mediums, and compositional layout but has given her greater understanding of artistic style and expression of thought. It seems obvious to say that her work is not only influenced by her chosen subject but by paint and painting itself.

Jiri Ptacek

Jiri Ptacek uses sea and sky as a metaphor for man’s metaphysical search for peace despite earthly troubles and darker forces. His paintings at Londonart are divided between crisp, clean edged acrylics and more ethereal mixed media ethereal compositions. Originating from Czech Republic, a landlocked European country, he has always been drawn to far flung, tropical beaches. Working from memory of his visits and from imagination, he successfully captures the sultry, brooding atmosphere of Caribbean skies. His seas feature Hockneyesque waves and there are hints of human presence set against menacing rocky outcrops and fragile but resilient palms.

Dana Puhosh

Concerned with conveying energy and spirit, Dana Puhosh paints across a variety of genres, yet there is an unmistakeable style to this talented artist's output. His landscapes of Tenerife, Portmeiron or Cesky Krumlov are simultaneously realistic but bursting with intense colour.
