Enrico Salvadori

Highly successful photographer Enrico Salvadori has worked on major advertising campaigns and on behalf of leading humanitarian agencies worldwide. He is showing on Londonart a series of largely figurative works on paper that celebrate the masculine form in a variety of ambiguous locations. Although sport and recreation appear to be the manifest subject matter, there is a strong undercurrent of latent power and sexuality.

Elena Samborskaya

Elena Samborskaya paintings have the beguiling charm of Russian folk art and yet use modern subjects. She returned to painting a few years ago after working as an architectural designer in the eighties. Besides shows in her native Volgograd and other Russian cities, in the early nineties her work was shown a in Italy and in Germany at the ART HAMBURG show. She says of her work, ". In my youth, I tried to copy the artists who charmed me most, but these were stopovers on the path to find my own way. I was, at times, sick with measles and chicken pox, just as I was sick with the French impressionists and the Russian avant-garde of the 1920-30ís. I still admire the models of Renoir and the creative road of Malevich as much as I did when young. The personality of Picasso shocks with its scale. It is necessary to find, examine and separate your unique voice from among those beautiful, strong voices, and that is exactly what I am busy doing."

Gabriela Schutz

Ever get the feeling that life is passing you by? Just one big habitual, recurring Journey, a maze of interwoven decisions and choices, constantly doubting if you’re heading in the right direction or if you’ve been here before? Gabriela Schutz’s depictions of Mazes, Orchards, Gardens, repetitive, sterile formulaic divisions of space with seemingly no end or beginning raise a few hairs on the back of your neck as well as delightful question after delightful question.

Lauren Sebastian

Lauren Sebastian's drawings have a spontaneous quality - they combine a fresh illustrative style with nostalgia evoked by using recycled 1933 encyclopedia pages as a starting point; and her semi-abstract paintings are vibrant and colourful reminiscent of the heat of southern Spain, where she spent some months living in Cadiz.

Jenni Sinclair

A painting contains magical and real truth and fictions. I am interested in depicting the unsaid, the elephant in the room, what lies beneath the veneer in the eternal drama and dynamics of family relationships. My work explores the general experiences of childhood, the formation of identity, the influences of beginnings, the inherent humour and pathos of our lives, memory, how we believe the myth of ourselves, and changing perceptions over time. For example, what lies beneath the surface of an informal family snapshot? What the photograph doesnít say is what fascinates me - the ubiquitous school photograph has many untold truths. Photographs are an endless source of inspiration but only a starting point.

Steve Slimm

There is a productive tension in Slimmís work between the representation of actual place and abstract expressionism. Delicate watercolours of solitary trees rub shoulders with large monumental vistas of standing stones and waterfalls. Cornwall is clearly a source of delight to Slimm and he appears to love to reflect the light in his work. Yet often rooting paintings in place also serves to spur his imagination leading to more dramatic gestural compositions.
