Katherine  Lubar

Lubar's glowing effervescent paintings create optical illusions of light and shadow. Often taking us through three or four stages and divisions of reality, she exhibits her work across London and America where her work is held in private collections. "My work takes as its subject light and shadow. The shape of a light pattern and the "negative" space surrounding it combine and interact with each other to form a geometrically interesting composition. Unnatural colours are used to create the feeling of light hitting the eye and sometimes dark and light tones are used together to give the feeling that the painting itself "glows" with its own light." Marek Langowski

Drawing obvious comparisons with some of the finest names in art history such as Turner and Canelletto, Langowski is a genuinely talented painter who uses a variety of techniques in order to create these incredible works. Wonderfully crafted scenes of the Venice lagoon shimmer with the dance of light on the canal surface. Boats are illuminated by the golden glow of streetlights to create a glorious canvass. His seascapes contain every flick of light, caught fleetingly on the temporary crest of a wave as the boats hold their solid forms in front of the dissipating sunlight. In some works he faithfully captures the shape and grandeur of the masts and sails, in others he allows the light to take over in a more impressionistic style. When human beings make an appearance in his work they do so as isolated, solitary figures, holding bright red umbrellas against the murky grey twilight of a rain soaked evening. This is striking and beautiful work and we are delighted to bring it to a wider audien

Alexander Lee

Alexander Lee is an artist with an unusual geographical trajectory; he hails from the warmth of Australia but now lives and works in the cooler climes of Sweden. His Australian heritage can be detected in the fierce heat of exciting compositions such as 'Bush Fire 1' and 'Bush Fire 2' which are quite unique subjects rarely seen amongst the artists of Londonart. The flaming line of acid yellow trees in the distance are dramatic giving a kick to our usual perceptions. These works may be contrasted with the cold tones of 'Blue Cobbles': a painting also full of movement but more contained and deliberate. In works such as 'Evening Storm' and 'Colour Girl' both hot and cold colours are brought together in a harmonious whole.

Hong Li

Hong Li works in a realistic style to create accurate representations of figures and landscapes. His repertoire includes subject matter drawn from his traditional Chinese heritage such as "Beijing Opera Girl" and "Morning Sunshine of Beijing's Winter". The former is a soft, sensuous mingling of female limbs, red cloth and made-up eyes with a red lipstick mouth. The second work mentioned portrays traditional Chinese architecture which creates shadows in complementary colours in a mysterious, perspective laden vista. Unique figurative subjects are rendered realistically, bringing to life an array of distinct, memorable characters.

Raymond Lim

Raymond Lim is a perfect example of how being self-taught can endow an artist with a sense of freedom in the way they make their work. Lim's output spans a wide range of subject matter and includes some very unique creations such as "Dear oh Deer" and "Lovey Dovey". Obviously an animal lover, creatures move through his work, enlivening his compositions and bringing a sense of joy to every picture. He is drawn to linear experimentation, often with shapes fitting into others by way of a complicated interwoven filigree. The colour scheme bears a distinctly feminine feel, embracing soft pastels: pinks, blues, yellows and soft greens. Despite being self taught, Lim's oeuvre bears a distinct resemblance to the work of Picasso and his naieve but practised vision.
