Tim Fowler is a painter whose fascination is with the urban landscape. In his postcode painting series he chooses buildings of architectural interest or derelict structures which demonstrate growth and decay in the city. He says of the series, "the idea came about when I moved to Sheffield to attend University. Moving house every year with the postcode changing in relation to the type of building or area I was living in." He uses a variety of techniques involves using masking tape, airbrush stencilling and application with pallette knife. "I class myself as a neo-urban expressionist. My paintings are are partially recognisable images, which I like to distort with strong colour and abstract elements." Since graduating from Sheffield Hallam University in 2008, painter Tim Fowler has been busy, exhibiting at The End gallery in Sheffield, Art in the Pen and the Independent Artist Fair in Chelsea.
