Howard Davies

Howard Davies Recalling the Russian Constructivists of the early twentieth century Howard Davies’ brash abstract forms derive from Modernist architecture and industrial design. The monochrome works have the claustrophobic layers of an Escher, the ordered shapes of technology are set into free fall. Patterns from the manmade world are blended with shapes from nature in disturbed geometry, the images burst with bold energy expanding or constrained with in the forms.

Julian Davies

A first look at Julian's work makes you think of colour: the colours are bright, vibrant and dynamic. The artistic inspiration comes partially from map reading and also from observations; therefore his landscapes are a mixture of real and imaginary places drawn in a graphic manner.

David Day

David Day's approach to creating art, offers the viewer an oblique and thoughtful perspective on the traditional masterpiece. His pieces such as Mona Copy and Munch Copy, use the minimal of words to reflect their original source. David Day's landscape paintings are created within and by the landscape itself. Each canvas is taken to an environment, in this case David's home town in Cornwall, and left for up to 3 months, or until the desired effect is achieved. The Canvases exhibited on londonart were attached to shipwrecks and a harbour wall in Cornwall. David's landscape paintings are displayed in our online exhibition in situ, but are for sale, and are intended to be hung on a wall in a conventional manner. David Day has worked for many years within the design and advertising industry and has recently exhibited with NABS in an Art Exhibition held at the Truman Brewery.

Jon Del Mar

Jon Del Mar specializes in 'Gangster Art' and finds his inspiration form societies most feared and revered gangsters. Portraying historical gangster such as Beat Takashi, Jon Del Mar, draws on contemporary gang members and living gang-related lifestyles in the UK and abroad to feed his work. Sometimes the connection comes directly from the word on the street. "I have even gone so far as to meet some real Japanese and London Gangsters." Producing digital prints in limited editions of five, his work superimposes silhouetted figures in black over crisp and cool contemporary colours which are then printed on to large canvases.

Alberto Delso Salvador

Thick layers of solid block colour are applied heavily to the canvas, creating a textured and absorbing surface to this work. By reducing each image to its core elements, whether they are colours, shapes or forms, the artist is able to create a stylish interpretation of it. His work varies from landscapes to images of dreams, always showing the emotional heart of the scene, rather than the endless details. His colour scheme is bold and inviting, giving his work and energy and light that would decorate any surface or room. In ‘Spider’ each brushstroke is echoed by different shades of the main colour, giving a shimmering depth to the work and capturing movement and light within the canvass. This is beautiful art for lovers of colour and life!

Jo Dennis

Dreams, sex, self, mortality, the subconscious and, paradoxically, consciousness, all specific aspects of the human condition, are the themes which underpin Jo Dennis’ practice. She is interested in the connection between man and beast and the ridiculous nature of vanity, identity and beauty. Coupled with this is a fascination with the hyper-real states of self awareness and self loathing which stem from the excesses of modern life; binge drinking, drug induced paranoia, sexual disgust…
