Jenni Sinclair

A painting contains magical and real truth and fictions. I am interested in depicting the unsaid, the elephant in the room, what lies beneath the veneer in the eternal drama and dynamics of family relationships. My work explores the general experiences of childhood, the formation of identity, the influences of beginnings, the inherent humour and pathos of our lives, memory, how we believe the myth of ourselves, and changing perceptions over time. For example, what lies beneath the surface of an informal family snapshot? What the photograph doesn’t say is what fascinates me - the ubiquitous school photograph has many untold truths. Photographs are an endless source of inspiration but only a starting point.

Steve Slimm

There is a productive tension in Slimm’s work between the representation of actual place and abstract expressionism. Delicate watercolours of solitary trees rub shoulders with large monumental vistas of standing stones and waterfalls. Cornwall is clearly a source of delight to Slimm and he appears to love to reflect the light in his work. Yet often rooting paintings in place also serves to spur his imagination leading to more dramatic gestural compositions.

Juan Sly

Urban art is a combination of street art and graffiti. Cult Artist Sly is one of Londonart's best sellers. His original artworks have the ballsy, spontaneous attitude of street art and Sly offers a way to transfer this edginess onto your own wall.

The work of Emma Strangwayes-Booth depicts figures or seemingly mundane objects behind which lurk a darker biographical narrative, often charting physical and mental change. Inspired by the natural world, ancient myths and dream psychology, she seeks to treat her work as a means to explore imagination and the subconscious mind. mark thirlwell

Probably the first artist on the whole Londonart site to use the word "Metamodernism" of his work, Mark achieved a First in his BA in Fine Art when he graduated from Sunderland University in 2012. New artists emerging from art school are often the closest to "where its at" in terms of current cutting edge thinking about art and keen collectors value this intellectual commodity. Mark is concerned to cross-reference his ideas; producing enigmatic works, such as double portraits.and horses heads: modelled in 3D, dissolving to simple marks on paper. His painting "How to present one self with two other selves" is both comic yet searching. The subject looks out at the viewer, amidst questions scrawled in blood red: an image attempting to reproduce the questioning of the artist's own self/selves.
